The job is for a part-time, contract position as a Surgical Technology Instructor at Ancora Education. The instructor will be responsible for teaching students in both classroom and hands-on lab settings, ensuring that they acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for entry-level employment in their chosen field.

The instructor’s essential functions include:

FunctionDescription
Classroom and Lab InstructionUtilize classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaged learning experience.
Meeting Learning ObjectivesEnsure that each student has been presented with the material to successfully meet the learning objectives of each course within their program of study.
Instructional Materials and EquipmentEnsure that instructional materials and equipment are ready for student use, sufficient in quantity, properly maintained, and in working order prior to class time.
Professional DevelopmentParticipate in ongoing faculty assessment and professional development activities to ensure an active and engaged classroom experience for all students; maintain required certification and license.
Administrative DutiesActively participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines.
ComplianceEnsure campus compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory bodies’ guidelines, along with internal policies of the company.

The required qualifications for the position are:

QualificationDescription
EducationAssociate’s degree, preferably in Surgical Technology, from an accredited institution.
CertificationCurrent, valid Surgical Technology credential (CST, CSFA, or CST/CSFA) through a nationally accredited certification program.
ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of total verifiable work and/or instructional experience as a Surgical Technologist in the last ten years.
Other RequirementsMust meet any and all other state and accreditor requirements to qualify as an instructor for the Surgical Technology program.
Communication SkillsStrong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse groups of employees and customers.
TravelAbility to drive/travel to various extern/clinical/job sites.

Preferred qualifications include proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design, program planning, and experience or training as an educator.
